There are more differences between the Athosians and the Lanteans than I had thought. Among them only the adults are share tents with others. And their passage into adulthood is much later than ours. I fear many Athosians will not understand their ways and may not respect them as they should. Dr. Weir was warned of this, but it is dangerous, there are reprecussions of our actions, and I do not wish to be indirectly responsible for any of the Lanteans being punished or marked with a social stigma. I have also been offended on a highly personal level, though I have spoken to nobody about it. Halling knows, he was present at the time, though I doubt he will have spoken of it either. One of Major Sheppard's men accused me of colluding with the Wraith. Had I not just come from meditation, I would have likely been more upset at the accusation. I also sat with the man at dinner who accused me. I was invited to the table by Kate Heightmeyer and did not wish to turn down her invitation. He made vague insults, but they were easily ignored. That did not make them any less insulting. One day of insults I can forgive. If it happens again, I will speak to Major Sheppard or Dr. Weir, there are those among the Athosians who would not keep a cool head when faced with such a situation, and I do not wish to see a rift develop between our peoples. I have had a sparring session with John. It was actually quite worthwhile, he has no formal training in Dekert but still did quite well at surviving. It was a workout for me in how hard I worked to not defeat him easily, but it was quite good to have someone to spar with. He now has my old set of sticks to practice with until next time we meet. I must show him more of the more mundane work, such as feet moves and angles to follow, but with what he already knows on his own is quite a beginning. This evening I will again meet with my people. Charin has asked to talk with me, regarding what I do not know. I also need to speak with Halling again about possibly setting up time to train for the children. Even though we are living in a "safe" city, it would still be a good idea to train them all, as well as giving them some way to burn off their energy. And seeing the gym that John took me to, it would be easy to set up classes for them. Now that there is no impending threat of Wraith and no working to farm or work in the camp, they have more time for play and learning. Why not put the natural energy of those boys to work, and something that will be beneficial to them for the rest of their lives? Current Location: My quarters

Re-reading what I've written I feel remiss. I must mention more about the people who rescued my people. There are so many, I'll begin with those I seem to know best.
Major Sheppard was one of the first people I met. He immediately struck me as a person to trust, he didn't look through me as his superior did. Perhaps this is why I took him to the caves. While we were there I showed him the pictures on the walls and he found the necklace I had lost. I was sure it was gone years ago, and all that time it had been sitting on the ground of the caves. When we returned to the city the wraith were attacking. Apparently he led my people to Atlantis and came back to save those who had been captured. And he succeeded in bringing almost everyone back. He lost his own leader, but the cost of this loss was saving everyone else on that ship.
When we returned to Atlantis I met Dr. Weir, an amazing woman. She is in charge of this city, and I think that in time we can truly forge a friendship. At the same time, I do not envy her the job she has. This is not a city of people who fend for themselves, but a city of several groups of people who share a common goal. After looking around and seeing how little food production goes on I might have to find some land or find some way to trade for food among allies of the Athosians.
There are also those who would fight and die for the city, but they know nothing of the wraith except for what they experienced in that first encounter. They rely to heavily on their weaponry which will not save them when they come across a group of wraith who have fed recently. As much as I am glad for the safety of my people and living among those who have found the city of the Ancestors, there are things that must be discussed. Tomorrow may bring change, but those who live for today may affect the course.
